It’s DC Alliance’s 1st anniversary!
On 10th September DC Alliance (DCA) turns 1. It’s been an amazing year for DCA, despite all the disruptions caused to the world by COVID-19. To celebrate our wins on this milestone, we look back at the nine things we achieved so far, both big and small.
We built our data centre network from scratch
In this pandemic year, we managed to make our first data centre acquisition which is now known as DCA | PIER. Managing the transaction virtually while most of us were in lockdown, we became proud owners of a data centre after getting approval from the Australian Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB).
Furthermore, just before our 1st anniversary, we announced our strategic alliance with DXN Ltd, which expands our data centre network across to the eastern seaboard. We will continue growing progressively in the coming years.
2. We came up with a new motto as we started afresh
DC Alliance took on a new motto as part of its branding refresh after acquiring PIER. “Engineering Connected Systems” aims to encapsulate our work as an engineering-focused data centre operator, always connected through an ever-growing ecosystem of partners. More about our motto here.
3. We became a Preferred Supplier of the WA Local Government Association (WALGA)
DC Alliance is proud that it was made a Preferred Supplier of the WA Local Government Association (WALGA) in April this year. DC Alliance has long served government organisations, including local institutions such as the City of Canning and City of Rockingham, as its most valued customers.
4. We launched our Partner Program
Our Partner Program was launched in May this year, in a bid to create greater value from a commercial partnership. We have been adding partners regularly since the launch, and the latest event gave partners a chance to brew and bring home their very own DCA beer!
5. We added some colour to the DCA | PIER facility
The DCA colours of green/navy blue and white weren’t apparent in the PIER facility until we put up a wall design that featured an ecological theme. We also put-up photos of our events and our team in the revamped Network Operations Centre (NOC).
6. We joined our first data centre online conference – DCD Inside Australia
DCA took part as a Thought Leader in the DCD Inside Australia conference, discussing about how edge will shape Australian IT infrastructure and services going forward. Stream on demand here.
That’s not all though – we joined many more events over the year, including the WA IT Summit (3rd in a row), a joint event with the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and the putt4dough ICT Charity Golf Day.
7. We launched our CSR initiative, “DCAres”
At the charity golf event Putt4dough last year, DC Alliance launched its CSR initiative “DCAres” where it sponsored a A$50,000 Hole-In-One prize. At DCA’s Lunar New Year event this year, we also named the Autism Academy for Software Quality Assurance (AASQA) as the beneficiary charity of DCAres.
8. We premiered our very first corporate video
The team all took great initiative in being part of the production of our very first corporate video. All models are from in-house only and did an excellent job casting their roles. Check it out here.
9. We rebuilt the team
We took time and patience to build our team: a data centre with souls. Our team has a diversity mix who are willing to go the extra mile to get thing done. Getting a good outcome for our partners is more important than a commercial outcome.
