PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA – In an agreement signing ceremony with DCA Networks, a 100% owned subsidiary of DC Alliance (DCA) held on Tuesday, 21 June, TPG Telecom has announced that it has commissioned a TPG Telecom Private Cloud pod in the DCA | PIER facility, the first and only data centre company to host such a pod in Western Australia.

This dovetails with DCA’s Colo+ Multi-Cloud Strategy to offer customers more services beyond simple colocation. DCA is able to offer Tiered Storage-as-a-Service (STaas) as well as Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) through a Private Cloud. This is all also fully compatible with the Public Cloud (e.g. Azure, Amazon Web Services). TPG Telecom foresees wide usage around its Private Cloud service among its customers who are moving away from on-prem infrastructure to IaaS.

This will benefit DCA’s current and future customers as PIER will officially be a core network location within the national TPG Telecom network. DCA will be TPG Telecom’s customer, secure data facility provider and delivery partner for critical services within the Perth metropolitan region and Western Australian digital services. DCA, together with TPG Telecom, will fill a gap in the market to offer a high performance and resilient cloud solution within the Perth region. Low cost, high bandwidth services in the Canning Vale region can finally be provided to the important market.

This investment of network and capacity assets will allow future growth and scalability of both private cloud and bandwidth, including vHost, Storage and Network offerings supported within an accredited Tier 3 Uptime Certified environment. There will be 24/7 support of the IAAS environment.

Roy Wong, Executive Chairman of DC Alliance, said: “DCA | PIER is now truly ready for business after 18 months of hard work since our acquisition. We are now ready to host local and international partners and businesses. I appreciate TPG Telecom for being such a fantastic partner to work with and I look forward to growing together with them.”

“We are excited to extend our partnership with DCA to deliver fast, reliable and scalable enterprise connectivity solutions to West Australian organisations,” said Jeremy Howe, TPG Telecom General Manager, Commercial Enterprise and Government.

“This launch means that critical data and IT applications of WA-native businesses will be housed close to their premises, delivering high performance and secure management of their digital infrastructure.”
